Ishavasya Upanishad

This course will be run as part of the Deeper Day In series in 2023. More information soon.

A down to earth exploration of this beautiful text.
The text begins with the beautiful Shanti Mantra:

Om Poornamadah, Poornamidam,
Poornat, Poornamudachayate,
Poornasya, Poornamadaya,
Poornameva Avashishyate

That is full, this is full.
From full, the full is taken, the full has come.
If you remove the full from the full, the full alone remains.

A simple non academic investigation through chanting, contemplative reflections on the text, yoga classes and meditation.

Ishavasya Upanishad is an ancient text, around 3000 years old, the 40th chapter of the Yajurveda, one of the four principal Vedas. The previous thirty nine chapters describe various mantra, rituals and ceremonies. The Ishavasya Upanishad, however, is not concerned with ritual. It distills, in a few verses, a concise depiction of the deepest mysteries of life.
