More about Community and Community plus Membership

Community Membership is designed to foster an ongoing relationship with yoga sadhana. This takes place with the help of a constant stream of connection with Yoga classes, courses, talks and interaction with others interested in yoga.

The improvements to the Community Membership in 2023 mean that there will be an enhanced experience.

There will be more classes available. All weekly classes are listed below.

On Saturday morning there is a regular new class which is effectively an ongoing series of short courses. These are available with a 15% discount for Community Members and are automatically included with Community Plus. See the short course section under Essence of Meditation and Advanced Meditation.

There is a fee for Big Day In with Yoga now, but this is included with Community Membership.

There is a similar day for experienced students, Deeper Day In, that is like the Big day In with Yoga, but with more advanced themes and practices covered. Yoga Upanishads will be introduced in these sessions during 2023. These have a 15% discount for Community Members and are free for Community Plus members.

Through the option of Community Plus Membership additional courses that  community members often apply for are now covered with one low fee. There are a number of new courses that this applies to including the Essence of Meditation series, the Advanced Meditation series, Big Day In and Deeper Day In.

If you have previously completed The Bhagavad Gita courses and, for a limited time, Hatha or Raja Yoga courses, and would like to re-enrol in them then this is also covered with Community Plus Membership.

Saturday 4-5pm – OPEN DISCUSSION, open to all current Sharing and Learning Yoga students, questions and answers, sharing of perspectives. – NEW

Sunday 7-8.30am CLASS – Simple Sunday. We are moving this class to the morning for the Southern Hemisphere summer as we find that Sunday evening during summer is hard for potential participants.

Sunday 11.30-12pm – YOGA NIDRA, live, also recorded for practicing at your convenience.

DAY CLASShealth and wellbeing – We are still exploring the best time for this class. If you are interested in coming to it live online regularly, please contact us. At the time of writing 10am Fridays.

Wednesday 7-8.05am – CLASS – Meditative Wednesday

These two courses alternate (4 weeks essence, 6 weeks advanced)

Saturday 7-8.30am – ESSENCE OF MEDITATION CLASS – Practical class with a focus on meditative experience, preferable to attend live most weeks, attending via recorded classes possible with prior discussion.

Saturday 7-8.30am – ADVANCED MEDITATION CLASS – Advanced asana, pranayama and meditation class, building on skills covered in the Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Bhagavad Gita courses. The first 6 weeks will cover chakra shuddhi, the second will go deeper into Ajapajapa. Preferable to attend live most weeks, attending via recorded classes possible with prior discussion.

Saturday 11- 11.30am  – SHORT TALK on the topic, live, also recorded for viewing at your convenience.

Gita classes on Monday evening are included if you are a current participant in the Gita courses. If you have previously done the Gita courses then Community Plus Membership) enables you to fully participate in the current version of the Gita courses. We are finding that many want to keep working through Gita each year, because each year new secrets are revealed. For a limited time this also applies for other longer courses such as Raja and Hatha Yoga.

NOTE: We take breaks over Christmas and New Year starting from mid December. During term breaks throughout the year less live classes are available but generally one or more class continues (typically, Meditative Wednesday class).
